Sole Sisters Women’s Race celebrates 10 years of BEING THE INSPIRATION in 2022 so we’re inviting your fathers, brothers, sons, uncles and all the other men in your life to take part in this fun event. After two years of being socially distanced, isn’t it time you had a fam jam and did something fun—together, in person, and live? What could be more fun than your dad/son/brother/uncle/grandpa in a tutu?

What follows is a bit of our recent history! In 2016, Sole Sisters Women’s Race transformed into the Sole Sisters Women’s Race Series by adding a timed 5K, Quarter and Half Marathon to its annual 5K in June. Further evolving, in 2019 the popular June and October races combined to become one amazing race weekend with races on Saturday night and Sunday morning. If you took part in both days then you were in the Tutu Challenge!
In 2020 and in 2021 due to Covid-19, rather than defer, cancel, postpone or just stop racing, we went virtual! Since virtual racing was something that we had provided for many years it was the perfect evolution during the pandemic.
Our world looks a bit brighter and a lot safer in 2022 so we are going to be back to in-person racing. However, we simply care too much about our participants and the quality and safety of our event to rush out a subpar event this June so we are going directly to our fall date. Plan to join us on Saturday, October 1, 2022 for a 5K race open to EVERYONE that wants to run or walk it.
What follows is a brief description of our events which we anticipate returning to normal in 2023. These races are truly unique, inviting runners and walkers of all ages, shapes, fitness levels and backgrounds to participate.
June 5K: The largest-ever race featuring tutus! A sea of purple t-shirts, tutus and tiaras can be seen for miles as thousands of women cross the Sole Sisters’ finish line. The June 5K event Sole Sisters is such a unique and extraordinary experience, including chocolate, hug stations, tutus and surprises galore! Learn more…
October 5K, 1/4 Marathon & 1/2 Marathon: Making history once again, as the first and largest women’s quarter and half marathon in Atlantic Canada (10.5K and 21K)! We identified a need in our region to introduce these running events – half marathons are the largest growing race in North America and a bucket list item for many runners. Learn more…
Steele Subaru KIDS RUN DARTMOUTH: In 2016 Li’l Sisters Races was a free-standing event the day before Sole Sisters with over 250 girls racing. Then in 2017 we moved the youth races to the same day as Sole Sisters and called them Little Miss Sole Sisters. With everyone invited to join Sole Sisters in 2022 we didn’t want to change the name to Little Miss Sole Sisters & Little Mister Sole Sisters so instead we joined with Epic Canadian to create Steele Subaru KIDS RUN DARTMOUTH which will offer all youth the opportunity to race 1K and 3K on July 1st with Epic Canadian and October 1st with Sole Sisters. These youth races are open to walkers too. Epic and Sole Sisters will provide different medals. Learn more…
